DEADWOOD, S.D. – According to statistics released this week by the South Dakota Commission on Gaming, Deadwood’s January 2023 gaming handle was down 0.01 percent over January of 2022, with slot machine handle increasing by .42 percent, when compared to January of 2022. The table game handle decreased by 7.56 percent when compared to 2022 January’s table game handle. Deadwood’s sports wagering handle was up 8.99 percent when compared to January 2022. Deadwood gaming operators rewarded players with $1,598,323 in “free-play” for the month of January, leaving taxable adjusted gross revenues of $10,400,484 for January of 2023.
“We are pleased that we were able to maintain revenues with January of 2022,” said Mike Rodman, executive director of the Deadwood Gaming Association. “We look forward to another successful year in 2023 for Deadwood.”
Deadwood’s sports wagering handle was over $900,000, with over 62% of that amount bet on the NFL.
