Jerome Kramer

Jerome Kramer

Jerome “Jerry,” “Jer-Bear,” and “Papa” Kramer was born on June 4, 1941, in Mobridge, SD, to Benedict and Susann (Traxinger) Kramer. He graduated from McLaughlin High School, where he met the love of his life, Beverly Imberi. They were married on October 17, 1964, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.

Jerry and Beverly spent many years farming and ranching outside of McLaughlin. Their life together was blessed with four children: Tamera, Doug, Lora, and Jason. In 2007, they moved to Summerset, SD, where Jerry enjoyed his retirement until his passing on April 4, 2025.

Though a man of few words, Jerry was known for his signature phrases like “All In,” “I Call,” or “Dirty Water” when dealt a poor poker hand. He had a deep love for playing card games of all kinds, especially with family and friends. Many will remember his beautiful singing voice, his passion for sports, and “dad” jokes.  Above all, Jerry cherished his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family.

A man of quiet, strong faith, Jerry’s devotion to Our Lady was evident in the well-worn rosaries found around his house, in his car, or tucked in the pocket of his coat.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Beverly; daughter Tamera (Bill) Britz of Sheridan, WY; son Doug (Jenni) Kramer of Wilton, ND; son Jason (Chaycie) Kramer of Fargo, ND; and his grandchildren: Ashley, Matthew, Samantha, Danielle, McKenna, Karsen, Joseph, and Jessie. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Jayden, Axle, and Evelyn.

Though we mourn his loss, we take comfort in knowing that Jerry will be welcomed into the arms of Jesus by his parents, his daughter Lora, and his two grandsons, Andrew and Shawn.

We are grateful for your thoughts and prayers.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Jerry Kramer Memorial Fund in support of funeral expenses.  Donation can be made to Kinkade Funeral Chapel.
