John Wade Morgan, 82, of Belle Fourche, SD went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 14, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer.
John was born on December 22, 1941 in Jersey City, NJ, the third of six children, born to Leroy and Helen Morgan.
John loved his country passionately. He was a fierce patriot, serving his country in the US Navy. He was also an Eagle Scout, a lifetime member of the NRA and a flag waving proud American.
On August 8, 1964 John married the love of his life Diane C Morgan in Old Bridge, NJ. To this union five children were born John, Dawn, Mark, Jane, and Jill.
John was strong, loyal, honest, patriotic, hard-working, dedicated, smart, resourceful, and quick with a joke. When it came to John, you always knew where you stood. He did not mince words and he could fix ANYTHING!
Left behind to mourn the loss of this amazing man are his wife of 60 years, Diane C. Morgan (Galati). His five children John C. Morgan of Belle Fourche, SD, Dawn (Brent) Brosnahan of Spearfish, SD, Mark A. Morgan of Belle Fourche, SD, Jane F. Summers of Belle Fourche, SD, and Jill (Paul) Mikelson of Prairie du Chein, WI. He is further survived by six Grandchildren, Amanda, Dylan, Zachary, Emily, Nicole and Allison and seven Great Grandchildren. John is also survived by his sisters Helen Morgan, Joyce King (Ken), Gladys Butler and Deborah Santora (Frank). He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Roy Morgan.
Graveside services will be held 10:30am Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis. There will be no visitation. Military Honors will be provided by the Belle Fourche Veterans Honor Guard.
