STURGIS, S.D. – Congressman Dusty Johnson visited two Black Hills area towns Monday.
Monday morning, Johnson visited Newell High School, where he visited with students and staff.
Johnson then participated in a Vietnam Veteran Pining Ceremony in Newell. Johnson says he takes pride in participating in these ceremonies, in which he’s attended many over the years.
Following his trip to Newell, Johnson attended an “Inside Scoop” Town Hall at Emma’s Ice Cream Emporium in Sturgis.
Johnson touched on several topics, including the Farm Bill and his recently dropped TEENS Act.
The Teenagers Earning Everyday Necessary Skills Act would loosen federal work hour limitations for 14 and 15-year-olds.
Currently, teenagers are not permitted to work past 7:00 p.m. during months when school is in session and are limited to 18 hours of work per week.
