RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City police have arrested a juvenile for allegedly shooting at houses.
Police say they responded just after 4:00 a.m. Thursday to MacArthur Street following multiple reports of gunshots. Officers arrived promptly and found numerous shell casings on the roadway. At least one house was struck by the gunfire, but no injuries were reported.
During their investigation, officers identified a suspicious juvenile who attempted to flee on foot. The individual was apprehended and found in possession of a handgun. Subsequent investigation revealed the juvenile as the suspect in the shooting. Due to the suspect’s age, he will be processed through the juvenile justice system.
Police say the quick response of patrol officers was instrumental in identifying and detaining the suspect.
