Kevin L. “Evel” Ehnes, 64, Lead, SD, died, Saturday May 20, 2023 The Monument Hospital Deadwood.
He was born, December 9, 1958, in McLaughlin, SD to Lawrence and Delores Ehnes.
Kevin known by all as “Evel” for his admiration of Evel Knievel.
Evel worked at Homestake for 24 Years and for Sanford Lab for 3 years. He participated in hill climbs and raced motocross. Being an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed, weekend Jeepin,’ skiing in the winter, golfing, fishing, and water skiing.
Evel is survived by his parents, Larry and Delores Ehnes, longtime girlfriend, Judy McGrath, brothers, Keith Ehnes, Kyle (Tammy) Ehnes, and Kim (Jamie) Ehnes, and sister Kelly (Rodney) Hanson. Nephews; Tyrell Ehnes, Tyler (Abby) Ehnes, Austin Ehnes, Zach (Sara) Ehnes, Jesse (Mandi) Ehnes, Zane Ehnes, Broc Hanson, and Colton Hanson. Nieces; Rayo Ehnes, Karissa Ehnes, Samantha Latray, and Michaela Miles and 13 great nieces and nephews.
Evel was preceded in death by 1 great nephew, Gabriel Ehnes.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 am, May 25, 2023 at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis, with burial to follow at Oakridge Cemetery in Deadwood.
