Labor Department Offering Workforce Knowledge Session on Wage Practices

PIERRE, S.D. – The Department of Labor and Regulation will host its next Workforce Knowledge Series session on Thursday, May 8, at 11:30 a.m. CDT/10:30 a.m. MDT via Microsoft Teams.

Titled “Compensation: Making Heads or Tails of Pay Decisions,” this session is designed to help businesses and organizations navigate pay practices and develop effective compensation strategies.

Many employers face the challenge of making pay decisions without solid research, often reacting to a rapidly changing market. Without a structured compensation plan, it can be difficult to find and rely on trustworthy data sources. This session is designed to help evaluate and organize a company’s compensation system, offering practical tips for managing more effectively.

Advanced registration is required by clicking the Register Now button on the Event Calendar Entry. Registrants will be prompted to enter a mySD single sign-on credential. Following registration, attendees will receive an email invitation with a link to the Microsoft Teams session and a separate calendar invitation.

The Workforce Knowledge Series is an ongoing initiative by DLR to share expertise on employment topics, providing valuable tools and resources to help businesses address workforce recruitment, retention, and operational challenges.
