Lacey Ann Logan was born February 14, 1983, in Philip, South Dakota, the third of six children born to Russel and Barbara (Hodgkiss) Logan. She grew up in Philip and began her schooling before moving to Interior, where Russ worked for the Badlands National Park. She then attended grade school in Interior before attending Wall High School in 2001.

After graduation, she moved to New Mexico for a brief time before moving back to Interior. She then moved to Wall where she worked at the Best Western Motel, the Elkton House, and the Cactus Café.

Lacey was united in marriage to Todd Thorson on July 21, 2006, in Philip, South Dakota. They made their home in Wall, where Lacey continued working. In 2013, the family moved to Philip, where Lacey worked for Diane Stewart at the Philip Livestock Auction Café, and began taking college courses. She later was manager at Boomer’s Convenience Store for four years. Lacey then took a job at Subway as a sandwich artist.

Lacey stayed pretty close to home, but she thoroughly enjoyed her trip she took with Todd, her brother Lane, and her sons Ricky and Logan. She got to see Graceland, the ocean, the Aquarium and Marine Science Center in Norfolk, Virginia, and the tramway in Albuquerque, all in that one trip. She talked about that trip many times over the years.

In addition to all her family, Lacey loved her dogs Daisy, Juno, and Maggie. She was a hard worker, and was a joy to work with.
Survivors include her seven children Ricky Todd, Andrew, Logan, Cheyanne, Sage, Nathaniel and Nelson Grimes; her grandson Ezekiel Alexander Todd; her parents Russ and Barb Logan of Philip; four sisters Heather (Zack) Wipf of Watertown, Crystal (Tony) Grimes of Interior, Erica (Neil) Smith of Newcastle, Wyoming, and Victoria Logan of Sturgis; a sister-in-law Lorrin Logan of Mississippi; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Lacey was preceded in death by a daughter Kyle Rae Bailey Marie Todd; a brother Lane Logan; her cousin Brent LaPlante; and her maternal and paternal grandparents; two aunts Patricia Leigh Herron and Tammy Logan; and one uncle Roger Dale Herron.

Arrangements are with Rush Funeral Home of Philip.
