STURGIS, S.D. – Ryder Ladner scored 23 points to lead the Sturgis Scooper boys basketball team to a 73-32 romp over Hill City Tuesday night.
Ladner joined two other players in double-figures as Sturgis picked up their fourth win of the season.
Sturgis jumped out to an 18-9 first quarter lead and increased it to a 37-14 halftime lead.
The Scoopers never looked back, increasing their lead to 54-24 after three.
David Anderson added 14 points, including a crowd-pleasing dunk with Marcus Myrick adding 11 points. Myrick also added a dunk that got the crowd on its feet.
Kobe Main led Hill City with 10 points.
Meanwhile, the Scoopers girls fell to a red-hot Ranger team Tuesday night.
The 11-3 Hill City girls outscored Sturgis 20-4 in the opening stanza and never looked back, pulling away for a dominating 58-32 win.
Haley Wathen led the Rangers with 16 points and Whitney Edwards added 11.
Kaylee Whatley led Sturgis with 11 points.
