STURGIS, SD — The St. Thomas More Lady Cavaliers, the second ranked team in Class A, showed why they’re among the cream of the crop in South Dakota with a 49-32 drubbing of the Sturgis Scoopers on Thursday night at West Gym.
The Lady Cavs led 26-10 at the half with balanced scoring and four three pointers. The Scoopers and Lady Cavs both scored 10 in the third quarter but Sturgis couldn’t gain any ground in the fourth, giving STM the win.
Kaylee Whatley led the Scoopers (2-6) with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Keeley Heikes chipped in two three pointers, finishing with six points.
The Lady Cavs (7-1) were led by Mairin Duffy, Jada Mollman and Reece Ross with 11 each.
The Scoopers are in action next at Rapid City Christian next Tuesday, Jan. 11 with tip-off scheduled for 6pm.
