STURGIS, S.D. – Landry Haugen of Sturgis was a multi-event winner at the Dupree Regional High School Rodeo over the weekend – cementing her spot in the upcoming South Dakota State High School Rodeo Finals.
Landry captured first in the breakaway roping with times of 2.750 in the first go and 3.470 in the second go.
Haugen also won the goat tying with 19 points and a 7.430 time in the first go and a 6.760 in the second go.
Haugen won the girl’s cutting with 20 points, finishing a full second ahead of the rest of the field. She scored a 71.5 in the first go and a 72 in the second go.
And, Haugen captured the reined cow horse with a 144.5 in the first go and a 144 in the second.
Haugen also finished fifth in the barrel racing and 11th in the pole bending.
On the boys side, Jackson Ford of Sturgis won the saddle bronc with 19 points on two head. Kashton Ford of Sturgis placed second in the bareback, just behind Fruitdale’s Reece Reeder, who won the buckle.
Jackson Spencer of Faith won the bull riding title and Whitewood’s Taylor Price captured the pole bending.
