Law enforcement in Sturgis searching for woman who escaped custody

STURGIS, S.D. – Law enforcement in Sturgis are on the lookout for a woman who escaped custody on Tuesday afternoon.
Police say Baily Wright was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. While being transferred to the Meade County Jail, she escaped from custody and was last seen running through downtown Sturgis.
The Sturgis PD and Meade County SO in cooperation with multiple other law enforcement agencies have been searching for Wright.
Wright is a white female, 5’01” tall and weighs approximately 100 pounds. She was wearing a multi colored shirt and “furry style” boots.
Wright is not considered dangerous at this time. When she escaped, she was not dressed for the cold temperatures. There is a concern for her safety at this time.
