YANKTON, S.D. – South Dakota legislators will examine county finances as one of their summer study topics.
Senator Jim Bolin of Canton is a member of the committee and says counties only have one tax available.
Bolin says they should look at services counties are required to provide and how they are paid for.
Bolin says they need to relook at taxes shared with counties.
The committee will be chaired by Representative Roger Chase of Huron. The first meeting has not yet been scheduled.
