LEAD, S.D. – The Lead Police Department is looking into two deaths that took place earlier this week.
On June 26, 2024, the Lead Police Department initiated a death scene investigation involving a 37-year-old male resident of Lead. Police and EMS responded to the residence that day, and the male was pronounced dead at the scene.
On June 27, Lead Police and EMS were called to a different residence in Lead for another male in need of assistance. During the investigation, it was discovered that the 44-year-old male resident had been present at the June 26 incident. He was also pronounced dead at the scene.
These incidents remain under investigation by the Lead Police Department, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, and Lawrence County Coroner’s Office.
