RAPID CITY, S.D. – On the brink of elimination, Rapid City Post 22 stayed alive in the South Dakota American Legion Class A Baseball State Tournament Friday.
The Hardhats eliminated Pierre with a 13 to 2 win.
Post 22 scored early and often, leading 10 – 0 after just two innings. Adding three more runs in the fourth, the game was called via the mercy rule after Pierre couldn’t gain any ground in the top of the fifth.
Harrison Good had a fantastic game for the Hardhats, scoring 2 hits and 3 R.B.I.’s. Jacob Solano added a pair of hits and 2 R.B.I.’s.
Post 22 stays alive in the tournament and will face Sioux Falls East on Saturday, who beat Mitchell 8 to 7.
