Leo Herman Tammi

Leo Herman Tammi 92, passed away peacefully with family surrounding him, on October 5, 2023, at Monument Health in Sturgis.

Leo, was born February 5,  1931, to Sven and Lillian Tammi, in Deadwood SD. He grew up on the family ranch in Nemo, SD, and would love to tell you all the stories of how much fun living there was.
Leo served in the Army from the years of 1951-1956, traveling through a lot of countries. He decided it was time to enter civilian life again and start a family.
Leo met Mona Scissons, and they had 1 daughter, Norma Jean.
Leo then met his soul mate Irene in Spearfish, SD. They were married July 10, 1960. To this union they had 4 children: Diana, Doris, David, and Daniel.
Survivors include: Diana Hobbs, of St. Onge. SD, Doris (Doug) Rogers, of Richards, TX, David Tammi, of Sturgis, SD, and Daniel (Trishelle) Tammi, of Sturgis SD; 21 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene, daughter, Norma Jean, grandson, James, his parents, Sven and Lilly, and 3 brothers, Howard, Clarence, and Melvin, 2 sisters, Irene and Lillian.
Interment with military honors will be 12:30 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.
