LeRoy Adam Fischer was born August 24, 1946 in New Leipzig, North Dakota.  He was the son of John and Elma (Hiem) Fischer, and grew up on a family farm.  He graduated from the New Leipzig High School.  LeRoy served in the U.S Army from December of 1966 until January of 1968.  During this time he served as a Green Beret Special Forces and did tours in Germany and several special missions.  LeRoy was united in marriage to Janet Steiber on May 9, 1969 in Bowman, North Dakota.  To this union three sons were born: Adam, Eric, and John.  Following their marriage LeRoy and Janet lived in Gettysburg SD where LeRoy worked in construction.  For several years he also worked as a ranch manager, machinist, and his work took him to the tri-state area.  In 1999 he moved to the Black Hills.  As a Master Carpenter, LeRoy owned and operated Fischer Repair and Construction and he was always grateful to work with his boys.  He was a talented carpenter, and a man of many talents.

LeRoy was a kind-hearted many who would do anything for anybody.  To know him was to call him “friend”.  He was a salt of the earth gentleman who would do anything for anybody.  He was a wonderful grandpa, and father.  LeRoy and Janet were blessed with many years of marriage and they were genuinely in love.  There’s no place they would rather be that with each other.  LeRoy kept his family close to his heart.  He will be deeply missed by them all.
