LeRoy James Harrington gained his wings and left this Earth on May 12, 2024.
He was born March 7, 1951, to Peter Eugene and Lois (Day) Harrington. He grew up on the ranch East of Piedmont, LeRoy attended two years of college at SDSU then returned home to help his dad and eventually bought the ranch.
In 1979, LeRoy met the love of his life, Juanita Kaubisch, they married in 1980 and worked the ranch until LeRoy’s health forced him to sell and move to town in 2018.
He is survived by his wife: Juanita; and his children: Toni (Shawn) Hill, Sioux Falls, Joseph Harrington, Rapid City, Levi (Keri) Harrington, Minnesota, Frank Harrington, Willow Lake, and McKenzie Harrington, Rapid City; ten grandchildren: Jazmine, Emaya, Ciara, Charlise, Blake, Natalya, Micah, James, Emily, and Dayne; his siblings: Jon Harrington, Dan Harrington, Maryann Hlavka, and Connie Humble; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his son, Dalton Dayne Harrington, and his parents.
LeRoy chose to donate his body to the Vermillion School of Medicine in hopes of bringing more education to COPD and congestive Heart Failure.
The family is honoring LeRoy’s wishes of not having a service.
