WATERTOWN, S.D. — A longtime Watertown day care provider is accused of assaulting a child in her care.
According to a ticket, Watertown police arrested 51-year-old Angela Laframboise on two counts of simple assault.
She’s accused of hitting a toddler at Little Angels Daycare and Preschool on May 3rd.
Documents in the case were not filed until this week.
In the meantime, the state has suspended Laframboise’s provider license and she’s scheduled to be in court in June.
KELO News reached out to Laframboise’s attorney, who said she’s never harmed a child and he’s confident a jury will agree.
His full statement is as follows:
“Angela LaFramboise has been caring for children for over 40 years. A full investigation into this case will show she has never harmed a child and we are confident a jury will agree she did absolutely nothing wrong here. Since the allegation surfaced she received a phone message from the State saying she is prohibited from running the business she’s ran for over 18 years. The amount of support she has received from parents that trust their children’s lives with her every day is overwhelming. We hope the State’s investigation involves interviewing each and every potential witness.”
