SPEARFISH, S.D. – Spearfish Police say Andrew Weishaar, a 35-year-old Belle Fourche man, was arrested for suspected driving under the influence following a car-motorcycle crash in Spearfish that injured the biker Friday.
The 51-year-old Spearfish man riding the motorcycle was taken to Monument Hospital in Rapid City. His name and condition were not released.
The crash happened just after 7 a.m. Friday at the intersection of North Avenue and Ryan Road in Spearfish.
According to a Spearfish Police Department release, witnesses said Weishaar was driving a minivan south on North Avenue when he turned left toward Ryan Road, in front of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was not able to avoid hitting the minivan.
Spearfish Police are investigating the crash.
