BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. – A man was arrested this week following an alleged altercation in Belle Fourche that reportedly put another man in the hospital.
Sheldon LaPoint is currently being held at Meade County Jail under aggravated assault charges after being arrested in Spearfish on Tuesday.
He’s accused of assaulting a man at the Riverside Campground, where LaPoint and another woman were staying.
Police also say LaPoint ran over and killed the man’s dog.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
