DEADWOOD, S.D. – The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office says a domestic dispute led to a standoff that ended peacefully Saturday morning.
Law enforcement say they responded Friday night to a 9-1-1 call in regards to a domestic assault in Central City.
Deputies from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the address and removed a female from the residence. The male subject, however, refused to leave the residence until early Saturday morning.

The male subject, identified as 54-year-old Richard Conley, was eventually taken into custody without further incident and was being held on a charge of Simple Assault Domestic Violence as well as Aggravated Assault on Law Enforcement.
The incident remained under investigation by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
Deadwood Police, Lead Police and the Northern Hills Ambulance Service all aided in the call.
