RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City police have arrested a man in connection with the beating death of a woman.
Police say they responded to the Emergency Room of Monument Health Rapid City in the early morning hours of November 9th.
Authorities say a woman was brought in from the Stardust Motel unconscious with bruising to her head and face. The woman later died as a result of her injuries and an autopsy showed she suffered significant blunt force trauma to the head.
Police interviewed 44-year-old Pedro Simental in connection with the woman’s death and he was subsequently arrested for First Degree Manslaughter.
Police say that the victim and suspect knew each other.
Simental was transported to the Pennington County Jail, and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
