RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Police have made an arrest in connection with a fatal stabbing that took place Tuesday night.
The incident happened at about 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Police were called to the 400 block of 6th Street in downtown Rapid City for a report of a stabbing that had just happened. They found an adult male with a stab wound. The victim was transported to the hospital where he later died of his injury.
After working through the night to develop and track down leads, police say 22-year-old Diontae Eagleman of Rapid City was placed under arrest for First Degree Murder and subsequently transported to the Pennington County Jail.
Local law enforcement continue to actively investigate the circumstances surrounding the stabbing incident.
The victim’s name has not been released yet pending notification of next of kin.
