RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City man arrested in connection with a fatal hit and run early Friday morning made his initial court appearance Wednesday.
Jordan Hare, 27, of Rapid City is charged with felony hit-and-run resulting in death or injury.
Prosecutors say Hare was driving a pickup truck that fatally hit 14-year-old Neveah Brave Heart and failed to stop after the incident.
Rapid City Police identified his vehicle from surveillance video. After investigating, police found the truck, a 2008 Silverado, at an address in south Rapid City.
During his first appearance, it was revealed that he had allegedly washed and cleaned the vehicle to allegedly try and hide evidence.
Bond was set at $10,000 cash.
If convicted, Hare could face up to four years in jail along with a $2,000 fine.
