RAPID CITY, S.D. – The man charged with first-degree manslaughter in the death of 30-year-old Acey Morrison made an appearance in court this week.
Gregory Landers, 53, is accused of first-degree manslaughter in the fatal shooting of Morrison in August of 2022 as well as ingestion of meth and possession of a firearm with a prior conviction.
In court Monday, the defense filed a motion to dismiss the manslaughter charge by claiming self-defense immunity. Judge Heidi Linngren set an immunity hearing for August 7.
Landers is due back in court on July 25, with a trial set for November 18.
