RAPID CITY, S.D. – A man facing felony arson and reckless burning charges pleaded not guilty during his initial court appearance Monday.
Jeremiah James Stange, 31, was arrested last week in connection with nine separate wildland and structure fires that happened between August 28 and September 30th in Custer County.
Prosecutors asked Judge Scott Bogue for Stange to be held with no bond due to him being a significant threat to the safety of himself and the public.
Judge Bogue agreed and ordered Stange to be held without bond.
Stange’s next court appearance has been set for October 24th.
