RAPID CITY, S.D. – The South Dakota Highway Patrol says a man was arrested for D.U.I. after a crash involving a farm tractor Tuesday afternoon.
Troopers say they responded to a crash on SD 44 near MM 76 where a driver of a Honda Pilot attempted to pass a farm tractor pulling a 1000 gallon sprayer attachment.
The driver of the Honda hit the back of the sprayer causing both vehicles to enter the north ditch. Both lanes of SD 44 were shut down for approximately an hour and a half while crews worked to clear the roadway.
The driver of the Honda was flown to Monument Health via Life-Flight with life threatening injuries after being ejected from the vehicle.
He was arrested for numerous charges including DUI. The other driver was not injured.
