Rombough was arrested July 21 after the Rapid City/Pennington County Special Response Team responded to a call at a Rapid City residence.
He had been charged with several felony offenses, including first-degree burglary, aggravated assault (Domestic), aggravated assault, and discharging a firearm at a structure/motor vehicle. In addition, he faced misdemeanor charges of simple assault and possession of a loaded firearm while intoxicated.
An autopsy was conducted and preliminary results are consistent with suicide by hanging.
The investigation is ongoing by the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation. Any further updates will be provided by DCI.
