RAPID CITY, S.D. – A Rapid City resident has been sentenced to 75 years in prison for the shooting and killing of Myron Blaine Pourier at the Grand Gateway Hotel in March of 2022.
Nineteen-year-old Quincy Bear Robe pleaded guilty in October to a reduced charge of manslaughter and accepted the terms of a plea agreement.
The state sought a maximum sentence of 75 years with ten years suspended, and all remaining charges against Bear Robe were dismissed.
Bear Robe previously acknowledged being present in the hotel room in March of 2022 when an altercation with Pourier led to the deadly shooting.
Senior Deputy State’s Attorney Rachel Lindsay says Bear Robe showed a lack of remorse.
The state of South Dakota sought a maximum sentence of 75 years with ten years suspended as part of the agreement..
