RAPID CITY, S.D. – A man who assaulted a woman at a Hill City motel has been sentenced to prison.
Jeremiah Hancotte was given two 25 year sentences that will run concurrently.
Hancotte was convicted on one count of aggravated assault and one count of second degree kidnapping.
He was accused of assaulting the woman and holding her against her will at the Hill City Super 8. The victim managed to escape and summon help.
During the sentencing, Judge Joshua Hendrickson called Hancotte’s actions “evil, unjustified and brutal.”
