RAPID CITY, S.D. – A Rapid City man is accused of abusing and killing a baby.
Authorities announced on Monday they had arrested 26-year-old Shamar “Tay” Bennett. He is charged with murder and child abuse in connection with the November 2022 death of the child.
Court documents indicate the victim was just a month old.
A 27-year-old Rapid City woman is also charged in the case Courtney Ann Martinez Martin, 27, was arrested this week for 2nd Degree Murder and Cruelty to a Minor.
She made a court appearance on Friday and is being held on a million dollars cash only bond.
