Many donation options available on South Dakota Day of Giving

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The fourth annual South Dakota Day of Giving is officially underway.

As part of the National Day of Giving, all South Dakotans are encouraged to make donations to one of more than 400 nonprofits participating across the state.

In addition to keeping with the tradition of Giving Tuesday (Nov. 30), all money donated to local organizations will go directly into helping them.“This is a day where we really focus on nonprofit organizations,” Project Manager for SD Gives Kelly Gibson said, “and the important work they do in our communities and take the opportunity to show some generosity to those organizations.”

Following the 11:59 p.m. deadline on Tuesday night rolls around, residents are still encouraged to find a way to help keep these resources in the community. “They’re raising dollars to do that all year-round.” she explains. “So the individual who makes a five dollar gift or a fifteen dollar gift possible is a part of something important that’s happening for that organization. So really, no gift too small or too large.”
