Marion Francis Quick

Marion Quick, age 93, of Arlington, South Dakota, formerly of Newcastle, Wyoming, died on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 Arlington Care and Rehabilitation Center in Arlington.

Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Rush Funeral Home in Philip with Pastor Kathy Chesney officiating.

Interment with military honors will be held at the Masonic Cemetery near Philip.

Marion Francis Quick was born July 7, 1925 to Lee and Tempest (Schultz) Quick in Winner, South Dakota. The oldest of four children, Marion had a brother Carl and sisters Evelyn and Ann.

He was united in marriage to Donna Pearson in Philip, SD on July 1, 1972. The couple made their home in Philip initially, then in Spearfish, and finally in Newcastle, Wyoming. To this union two sons were born, Keith Allen and Kirby Joe. Marion was a skilled diesel mechanic and ranch hand.

Marion proudly served in the US Army on the Korean Peninsula as a part of the UN peace keeping force sent in by President Truman in 1950. While often referred to as a war, it is officially known as the Korean Conflict. He was proud of his service and experienced lifelong health issues resulting from this service.

Survivors include his two sons, Keith and Kirby. Additionally he is survived by sisters-in-law Karen Pearson, Kathy Willuweit and Paula (Rick) Farley. Nephews Josh (Sacha) Farley and their children Sophie and Wyatt and Jared (Katie) Farley and their children Zakaryah, Zaiden and Zandria, among others, are survivors.

He was preceded in death by his wife Donna, his parents and his three siblings.

Arrangements are with Rush Funeral Home of Philip.
