SPEARFISH, S.D. – President Laurie S. Nichols has announced that Black Hills State University (BHSU) Director of Athletics Padriac McMeel has resigned, effective June 21, 2023. McMeel was named to the position in June of 2021.
Former BHSU Director of Athletics Jhett Albers will assume interim Athletic Director duties effective May 8 and until the next AD is hired. A national search will be conducted throughout the next several months during Albers’ return.
“We thank Padraic for his service to BHSU,” Nichols said. “Under his leadership, Yellow Jacket Athletics has achieved success in the classroom and in competition. I wish him well in his future endeavors.”
