STURGIS, S.D. – The Meade 46-1 School Board met in special session Wednesday night to discuss the proposed Sturgis Brown High School Cafeteria project.
The district is currently working with Arch, Inc. and has developed a facilities plan for a new 14,800 square foot addition to the south side of the school’s West Gymnasium.
The project program consists of a new kitchen, student commons/cafeteria and restrooms.
The project will also include site modifications to the existing parking lot and drop-off lane.
The board met and approved an amendment G.M.P. with Scull Construction Wednesday night for the project in the amount of just over $6.9 million. The amended rate no longer includes the kitchen equipment package, which the district will pursue separately.
