STURGIS, S.D. – The Meade 46-1 School Board met for their regular January meeting last night.
Under the recognitions section of the agenda, the board commended the Sturgis V.F.W., who donated $3,000 to go towards unpaid student lunch accounts in the district. That donation will go to the Food Service Department.
The board also recognized Stagebarn Middle School Resource Officer Colton Juno, who received two commendations at the American Legion Post 311 on January 4th. Juno was awarded American Legion District 1 Officer of the Year and American Legion Piedmont Valley Post 311 Officer of the Year.
The board also approved a request from Superintendent Wayne Wormstadt on scheduling a work study for Monday, January 29. The board will discuss several items, including results from meeting with homeschool families and the first meeting with businesses on Career Technical Education. Budget discussions and programming considerations for FY2025 are also scheduled to be discussed.
And the board approved advertising for bids for services for the Williams Administrative Building Boiler Replacement Project. The official advertisement will run between January 10 and January 17, 2024. Bids will be accepted until January 24 at 1:30 pm and then opened the same day.
