Meade 46-1 school staff honored with awards

STURGIS, S.D. – Some Meade 46-1 Educators have received awards recently.

Chantel Ligtenberg, Sturgis Elementary Principal, received the South Dakota Elementary Principal of the Year Award at the Outstanding Administrators Banquet in Pierre on February 1.

*Stagebarn Middle School 8th grade Science teacher, Grace Steinley, receiving the VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher Award*.

Ligtenberg was presented with a plaque from Secretary of Education Joe Graves.

Stagebarn Middle School 8th grade Science teacher, Grace Steinley, was awarded the “VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher Award for 2022-23” at the capitol in Pierre on February 6.

The VFW Teacher of the Year award contest recognizes three exceptional teachers for their outstanding commitment to teaching Americanism and patriotism to their students.
