STURGIS, SD – From turtle races and lego building championships to livestock showmanship and 4-H and open exhibits, the Meade County Fair offers a wide variety of events and vendors over its two-day run, says 4-H advisor Jenny Voight.
Set for Friday and Saturday July 29 & 30 at the Meade County Fair Building and the Sturgis Brown High School, Voight encourages attendees to check out both locations.
From watermelon eating and bubble gum blowing contests to mutton busting and a calf scramble, Friday’s events also include a free barbeque sponsored by the Sturgis Chamber of Commerce Ag Committee.
A new event this year is the Ag Olympics, a race of skills that both town and country kids can have fun in.
