Meade County road crews suspending operations overnight

STURGIS, S.D. – Due to the continued deterioration of road conditions, the Meade County Highway Department has decided to suspend operations until further notice.

This means any secondary highways within Meade County will not be plowed.

Meade County Emergency Manager Eric Pearson says “so if you were thinking of using them to bypass the Interstate, know that it isn’t a good idea.”

Operations are expected to be halted until tomorrow (Thursday) to allow workers ample rest.
