STURGIS, S.D. – The Meade County Sheriff’s Office handed out two speeding citations in a Highway Safety Enforcement operation this past Friday on New Underwood Road.

The sheriff’s office says they made five traffic stops in total.

Two drivers received written warnings for speeding.

Two drivers received citations for speeding, (one was 79 mph and the other was 82 mph in a 65 mph zone)

Finally, one driver was stopped for speeding, but also had an issue with a Lawrence County warrant, and no insurance. The driver was taken to the Meade County Jail.
