STURGIS, S.D. – The Meade County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a rash of storage unit burglaries around the area.

Investigators say the break ins are happening in Sturgis, Black Hawk and they have received reports from Spearfish there have been burglaries there too.

At least four suspects are being sought, and over the weekend, law enforcement released surveillance video images of two suspects and a vehicle. The individuals in the images are believed to be connected to some of the storage unit burglaries. They appear to be one male and one female.

The sheriff’s office says they have identified one of the suspects and have a warrant out for that suspect’s arrest.

The burglars are breaking into the units and taking everything from food items to A.T.V.’s. Deputy David Moore says know what is in your storage unit and check it frequently. Purchasing a high quality lock without an exposed shackle is also a good idea.
