Mitchell Lynn Jeffery passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Monument Health Rapid City, SD.
Mitch was born and raised in Sturgis, growing up as a wild and crazy kid who loved adventure. His youth was filled with stories that he would later recall with a twinkle in his eye, bringing laughter and joy to those around him. These tales from his younger days added to the rich tapestry of his life, showcasing his love for life and his playful spirit.
As he matured, Mitch developed a deep passion for the cowboy lifestyle, embodying the spirit of the West in his everyday life. Known for his kindness and willingness to help anyone in need, he was a true embodiment of community spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand.
Mitch was a proud father to Casey, Lacy, Sammy, Steven, and Mitchy, and a doting grandfather to twelve grandchildren. He was their guiding light, imparting wisdom, warmth, and endless stories of his earlier escapades. Alongside his children and grandchildren, Mitch is also leaving behind his loving partner, Maureen Rotterdam, with whom he shared many cherished moments.
In his professional life, Mitch delighted hundreds of customers by maintaining their properties to the highest quality. His dedication to his work earned him respect and admiration in the community.
Mitch’s life was a testament to the values he held dear: hard work, integrity, and kindness. His presence in the community was marked by his ever-present smile and his generosity of spirit.
A celebration of Mitch’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis, SD, with a visitation to begin at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will be 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2023, at Bear Butte cemetery in Sturgis, SD.

Mitch’s spirit will forever gallop across the plains of Sturgis, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
