STURGIS, S.D. – The Meade County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the discovery of a momma dog and her three pups, which were found in the area of Fairpoint Road near Union Center Monday.
The Sheriff’s Office says they are not sure if the dogs were dumped or got lost.
The dogs appear to be German Wirehaired Pointers and one of the pups was taken to a veterinary hospital for immediate care.
The dogs are friendly and well behaved.
They are currently at the Sturgis Animal Shelter.
Meade county Sheriff Pat West says “our sincere hope is someone lost them and we want to get them reunited and home.”
Anyone with information on the dogs is encouraged to contact the Meade County Sheriff’s Office or the Meade County/Sturgis Animal Shelter.
