PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reported 187 new COVID-19 infections Monday and no new deaths.
The statewide active number of cases is up 86 today to 2,730. However, the number of people hospitalized remains low at 76. That number is down 2 from Sunday.
Around the Black Hills area, Pennington County reported 26 new COVID-19 cases, giving them a cumulative total of 1,432 and 447 active cases. The active caseload is up 19 today in Pennington.
Lawrence County added 8 new cases sending their cumulative total to 225 and Meade County hit 300 total today with 6 new cases. The active caseload in Lawrence County is up 6 today to 129 and the active number of cases in Meade is up one to 159.
Elsewhere around the Black Hills area, Fall River County reported four new cases and Butte, Custer and Oglala Lakota each reported one new case.
There were 878 new persons tested according to Monday’s report.
Also today, health officials updated the number of rally-related COVID-19 cases among state residents. That number is now 105.
