Monday COVID-19 numbers from Dept of Health show 23 new cases

PIERRE, S.D. – The Monday COVID-19 numbers from the Department of Health show 23 new positive tests and a decrease in the number of active cases statewide.

Health officials report the number of active cases is 1,121 Monday – down 21 from Sunday.

In the Black Hills area, Pennington County recorded an additional 4 positive tests, with 125 active cases.

There were no new cases reported in Meade County Monday. The county still has six active cases.

Minnehaha County saw the most new positive tests Monday, with 14 new cases being reported.

The state reported 44 new recoveries and the total number of recoveries now stands at 3,415.

The number of statewide hospitalizations saw an increase today, rising 14 from yesterday to 99.

There were no new deaths reported Monday.

355 negative tests were announced, bringing the state total to 30,697. Totals for the Black Hills area include 2,602 negative tests for Pennington County, 561 for Meade County, 437 for Lawrence County, 142 for Fall River County and 164 for Butte County.
