PIERRE, S.D. – State health officials reported 116 new COVID-19 cases Monday, with 24 of them listed as probable.
There were 11 new deaths reported, sending the state’s total since the pandemic began to 1,667. New deaths reported on Monday were 9 men and 2 women.
Active cases dropped by 49 to 4,613 and the number of people hospitalized due to the virus fell to 203.
New cases across West River counties totaled 31 with 3 listed as probable.
In Pennington County, there were 14 new cases, Lawrence County added 7 new cases and Meade County reported just one new case.
Butte County tallied 2 new cases, as did Fall River County. There was one new case each in Custer and Oglala Lakota.
