Monday’s COVID-19 Report – 1,887 new cases; five new deaths

PIERRE, S.D. – In their Monday report, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 1,887 new cases of COVID-19, with 469 of those listed under the probable category.

Active cases are at 36,247 and the number of people hospitalized because of the virus dropped by 5 today to 392.

Five new deaths were reported, sending the state’s death toll to 2,606.

Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County reported 323 new cases, with 50 of those considered probable.

Lawrence County had 59 new cases with 3 probable and Meade County had 65 new cases with 2 probable.

Elsewhere, Butte County listed 23, Custer County had 19 and Fall River and Oglala Lakota County each had 20.
