Monday’s COVID-19 Report – 20 new cases, small uptick in active cases and hospitalizations

PIERRE, S.D. – Hospitalizations and active cases saw an increase as the State Health Department reported 20 new cases of COVID-19 Monday.

The new cases included 3 that were considered as probable.

Active cases saw a slight uptick from 170 to 174. The number of people hospitalized due to the virus jumped by six Monday to 21.

No new deaths were reported so the state’s death toll remains at 2,030.

Across the Black Hills area, there were 7 new cases. Pennington County had 5 and Meade and Butte County each reported one new case.
