Monday’s COVID-19 report – thirteen new deaths, 1,030 new cases

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reported 1,030 new cases of COVID-19 Monday with 354 of those listed as probable.

Active cases saw a decrease to 32,239 and the number of people hospitalized dropped by 18 to 393.

There were 13 new deaths reported, sending the state’s death toll to 2,650. Of the new deaths, 3 were out of Pennington County and one was out of Butte County.

Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County reported 166 new cases with 32 of those listed as probable.

Lawrence County added 52 total new cases with 5 probable and Meade County listed 40 total new cases with 3 of those probable.

Elsewhere, Butte County showed 26 new cases, Fall River County added 18, Oglala Lakota tallied a dozen, Custer had 11 and Harding County added an additional new case.
